All posts for the month December, 2015

<> at CBS Televison City on December 9, 2014 in Los Angeles, California.American Idol fans are diehards. We want the series to go on and on. We love the whole process – from beginning to end. We can’t get enough. We are well aware that the actual process begins within the heart’s desire of a possible contestant. When singing moves you from the depth of your being, it’s impossible to hold it back.

The shower and the local school production is a place to stick your toe in the water, but when you’ve gotten positive feedback it’s time to take it to the next level. Youtube to the rescue. If you look at some of the audition tapes of the greats and the not-so-greats it’s almost tear jerking.

American Idol shadow

So what’s going on with the 2016 Season of American Idol? The big news, of course, is that the network is cutting the season short by 4 weeks! That’s a lot of entertainment lost to us loyal fans. Apparently we are a dying breed. The fan base has diminished to the point where the show isn’t profitable to the overall scheme of things any longer.

All good things come to an end, but I’ll hang with my faithful readers until the very last bit of news is gleaned from the stages of what is perhaps the greatest reality TV competition ever. As a loyal American Idol Fan I will always be grateful for every jaw dropping performance, every goose bump, every cheer and sneer that occurred during the past 14 years.

Well the final season promises to be full of great moments. All the former judges who have ever been on the show will sit at the judges table at some time or another. At least the producers had the good sense to cater to their fan base with a tribute to those who made the show a success. The dates aren’t set in stone yet, but we expect to see red carpet limo service for Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson, Mariah Carey, Steven Tyler, Ellen DeGeneres, Nicki Minaj, and Kara DioGuardi as they all return for a commemorative farewell. Naturally, Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, Harry Connik Jr. are all sitting court as the official final season judges.

American Idol JudgesThe stage is getting warmer waiting for the next generation of American Idol. We can hardly wait, but the 15th season is still weeks away. The news is that Simon Cowell will be returning as a judge in the final season. He set the original standard when he didn’t mince words or pretended politeness simply to avoid hurting someone’s feelings.

We all had a love hate relationship with Simon, but because of his honest assessments we all respected his opinion above all others. If a contestant got a good word from Simon they must have treasured that high for a while. The judges are responsible for giving us unique, one of a kind performers. Because it’s a competition, only the best can survive.

In the beginning and true to this day, that’s what makes it worth watching. The talent is not cookie cutter, spit out of some random Dayton Ohio roadside assistance vehicle that gives us unoriginal, want-ta-bees. Because of the adept perceptiveness the judges show, we get the best. One thing for sure that American Idol brings us eager fans is the uniqueness of each participant.

american idol wallpaperAs a die hard American Idol fan I try never to miss a beat. While waiting for the new season to begin, I must keep myself entertained. I read the Idol news daily, although, I admit, with all the hubbub going into the last season (I can hardly say it) there just isn’t ever enough news to satisfy me.

Since the Premier Season, millions like myself have been hooked on the whole genera of American Idol. While initially inspired by the British version known as Pop Idol, once the show was broadcast in the US and Americanized, the producers had no doubt they had a multi-million dollar success going for them.

Not to be left behind, other countries started rising in popularity faster than Professional Airbnb Managers Niagara Falls ON can rent out premium properties on the market. American Idol morphed into China’s Super Voice Girls, Croatia’s Hrvatski Idol, Germany’s Deutshland Sucht Den Superstar, Asian Idol and the ultimate World Idol. A total of forty-six countries or regions had their Idol stage.
