After last night’s American Idol Top Downloads night of Idol performances, American Idol fans are anxious to know who got voted off tonight on American Idol? We’re LIVE blogging the results show as it happens, bringing Idol fans the breakdown of everything that happened during the American Idol results show. The Idol judges weren’t too impressed with several of last night’s Idol performances, and we couldn’t agree more with their reviews and criticisms of song choice and outfits. Remember Randy Jackson’s reaction to Allison Iraheta’s outfit saying, “What are you wearing?!” Hopefully you voted for your favorite American Idol after last night’s show ended, and tonight’s results will be very interesting. Idol predictions all over the net say that Megan Joy will be voted off tonight, but after watching Scott MacIntyre perform his best attempt at “Just The Way You Are”, both Megan and Scott are predicted to be in the Bottom 3 tonight. Will the judges use their save “veto vote” tonight for the Idol contestant with the lowest number of votes? Who got voted eliminated from American Idol tonight?

Ryan Seacrest said “over 36 million votes” came in after last night’s Idol performances by the Top 9. Randy Jackson says the Idol contestants picked the wrong songs and that maybe the genre of Top Downloads was too big. Adam Lambert gets special mention by Ryan Seacrest and Paula Abdul. Asked who he thinks should be worried of being voted off, Simon Cowell says Megan, Anoop and Scott were the three on his list.

The Top 9 Finalists contestants performed Journey’s hit song “Don’t Stop Believin” as a group performance, and it sounded pretty darn good! As I expected, Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey hit the high notes with spectacular precision!

American Idol 3/31/09 Top Downloads iTunes Recap LIVE Review-American Idol Fan Site

american-idol-top-downloads-itunesAmerican Idol 3-31-09 Top Downloads iTunes Recap and LIVE Review of American Idol Top 9 performances March 31, 2009. The Top 9 American Idol Finalists were allowed to choose ANY song they wanted to perform, as long as the song is a “top download” on iTunes.

First up is Anoop Desai singing “Caught Up” by Usher. Idol Judge Randy Jackson didn’t feel the song was right for Anoop, but said the vocals were good. Kara DioGuardi didn’t like the performance one bit. Paula Abdul said Anoop needs to work on showmanship, and didn’t agree with the song choice either. Simon Cowell said Anoop’s performance “was a complete and utter mess” and it gave Simon a headache. We didn’t care much for Anoop’s performance either, but we’ll see what happens with the votes.

Next up is Megan Joy singing “Turn The Lights Down Low” by Bob Marley. Kara DioGuardi said the song choice was wrong, wrong, wrong and that Megan’s vocal registry “became irritating”. Paula Abdul said she didn’t like it either. Simon Cowell said the song choice was “indulgent and boring”, “no one would like that song”. Randy Jackson said the song choice and performance was “like watching paint dry”. Ouch! I couldn’t agree more with the judges negative review of Megan’s song choice and performance.

Danny Gokey then took the Idol stage singing “What Hurts The Most” by Rascal Flatts. Paula Abdul said “this is where you thrive”. Simon Cowell said “it was the best performance so far”. Randy Jackson said “tonight’s show starts right here”, but Danny needs to “keep the swagger” and it was a “very nice” performance. Kara DioGuardi said “you moved everyone in this room emotionally, and it’s hard to do”.

Smokey Robinson Joss Stone “You’re The One For Me” Lyrics and Video

Just like you, I’ve been searching the net for the “You’re The One For Me” lyrics from Smokey Robinson and Joss Stone’s appearance on American Idol Motown results show Thursday, March 26. Since the “You’re The One For Me” lyrics can’t seem to be found anywhere online quite yet, I took the time to listen to “You’re The One For Me” a hundred times or more, writing down the song lyrics as the song played.

There were two lines in the lyrics to “You’re The One For Me”, where Smokey started singing in the duet with Joss Stone, that I had trouble figuring out. I’m once again posting the “You’re The One For Me” YouTube video with the lyrics I’ve written down. UPDATE: The two questionable lyric lines have been cleared up, and the complete/correct lyrics are found below.

Top 9 Theme: American Idol Top 9 “Top Downloads” Theme Spoiler

Top 9 Theme Spoiler! Ryan Seacrest announced on his radio show the American Idol theme for the Top 9 Idol contestants will be “TOP DOWNLOADS“. On Tuesday night, March 31, 2009 the Top 9 American Idol finalists will apparently be singing songs from the iTunes downloads/iTunes Top 100 downloads for song choice.

Top Downloads on iTunes, eh? Well, I sure hope Megan Joy carefully considers the variety of songs included in the Top 100 downloads when deciding what song she’ll sing, because her last performance was one of the worst thus far.
