The results are in and tonight we find out which two Idol contestants get voted off the show and sent home. Set aside all the American Idol Predictions and guesswork; it’s time to find out for real, once and for all. Say what you want about last night’s Elton John Idol performances, tonight’s elimination decision of TWO contestants going home is what matters now. Who will it be? Who are in the bottom 3 and bottom 2? Let’s find out!

This is American Idol! Video clip of last night’s performance, with piano music backdrop, followed by the text “you won’t believe who is going home” on the screen. Hmmm. The Idol judges take the stage, followed by host Ryan Seacrest. No more saves, no more second chances. 55 million votes received. Wow! The Top 11 Idols take the stage and head over to the couches on the side of the stage.

Season 3 past American Idol winner Fantasia, Will.I.AM and Jamie Foxx perform tonight. Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery begin singing a duet of song “I Told You So”. What a beautiful song, sung beautifully and in perfect harmony. Great performance! I’d definitely download that performance. Great match-up of these two singers performing this song together.

Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina are brought center stage to see if they’re safe or not. Both are safe!

The lame Ford video silliness is shown. Blech. Ryan Seacrest says the Idol contestants have received “a lot of fan mail”. James Durbin shows the WWE/WWF huge belt he received from someone.

Ooooh, a duet between Jacob Lusk and Naima Adedapo singing “Solid” by Ashford & Simpson. Nice job.

Jacob and Naima are kept center stage to see who is safe, or not. One is in the Bottom 3 and the other is safe. Naima Adedapo is in the Bottom three tonight. Jacob Lusk is safe!

Grammy Award winner Fantasia sings “Collard Greens & Cornbread” from her Back To Me album. Nice song! The song title sounded a little silly but I actually like it! I’m downloading this song! Nice!

Haley Reinhart, Pia Toscano and Thia Megia sing Katy Perry’s song “Teenage Dream“. I do like that song too! The three girls stand together onstage to see who is safe and who is not. Pia Toscano is Safe! Haley Reinhart is safe and Thia Megia is in the Bottom 3, along with Naima Adedapo.

Ryan Seacrest points out Season 8 winner Kris Allen sitting in the audience. Who? (just kidding). Video clips of the Idols in the mansion, moving out of the mansion temporarily due to rain water leaking into the mansion, Idols choosing their songs etc. (The time fillers for each results show is ridiculous). Clip of Casey James breaking down crying last week after being saved, and a new hectic week begins…blah blah blah.

Paul McDonald, James Durbin, Stefano Langone and Casey Abrams play guitar and sing “If We Ever Get Out of Here” and “Band On the Run”. Casey Abrams is safe, after Ryan said if Casey knew how many votes he got he’d be very happy. James Durbin is safe! One of the other two guys is in the Bottom 3 and the other is safe. Stefano Langone is safe! Paul McDonald is in the bottom three.

The Bottom 3 Idols are: Naima Adedapo, Paul McDonald and Thia Megia.

Will.I.AM and Jamie Foxx perform “Hot Wings (I Wanna Party)“. Lots of colorfully dressed dancers, but I’m not feelin’ this song, sorry.

The bottom 3 hold hands. One is safe and the other two are in the bottom 2. Paul McDonald is SAFE!

The Bottom 2 Idols are: Naima Adedapo and Thia Megia are both are voted off American Idol tonight.

American Idol Season 10 doesn’t start until January 2011 but FOX and AI’s Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe have been very busy making big changes to the show in apparent hopes to revive the popularity and ratings of American Idol. Season 9 wasn’t very memorable in many people’s views, including mine. Simon Cowell ran off into the sunset to do X Factor, Kara DioGuardi got the boot, Paula Abdul has been gone awhile, leaving sole original judge Randy Jackson to carry on.

Yeah, we’ve got the new judges team of Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steve Tyler on board. Yawn. Nigel Lythgoe announced recently that the Top 24 contestants is no more, but American Idol contestants will move right on to the Top 12 after Hollywood. AI is keeping the theme weeks, but the challenges contestants will face with the new season have increased.

According to TVGuide.com, there will be “contests to make the best music video, to promote themselves, and to work with a band and dancers for an awards show-style performance.” Whether or not American Idol will return to the early glory days of high ratings remains to be seen, but some industry observers are expecting ratings to decline from last year after the initial curiosity seekers get their fill. American Idol fans have been anxious for new cd releases from their favorite AI contestants, and they’re needs have been met by new cd’s released from Season 9 winner Kris Allen, Adam “Glambert” Lambert, Crystal Bowersox, David Cook, Allison Iraheta, Lee DeWyze, Danny Gokey, Jordin Sparks, Chris Daughtry and even Tim Urban.

Previous American Idol contestants Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson cd and complete album downloads are on the top of many people’s to-do list this holiday season. Let’s also not forget to consider the popular who got kicked off American Idol boot song Leave Right Now by Will Young, played at the end of the show each time a contestant gets voted off, my personal favorite boot song to date.

American Idol Christmas 2009. American Idol fans are thrilled to know that there are several American Idol albums being released in time for the 2009 Christmas holiday season. Past American Idol contestants have been diligently working on releasing new albums for the fans, and it will be interesting to see who sells the most albums in the American Idol Christmas shopping war.

Even with the economy being as it is, in what some refer to as a continuing Recession Christmas, quite a few American Idols are hoping fans will make this year a great Christmas in music and album sales.

American Idol gifts are building in popularity and momentum, especially the American Idol Wii game and the American Idol Microphone, so if you or someone you know is a mega-American Idol fan, here are a few Christmastime new album releases to order in time for Christmas.

Kris Allen – The new Kris Allen debut album is being released on November 17 and can be pre-ordered now to lock-in the price, with a yet-to-be-determined title and gift-wrapping options.

Adam Lambert – Adam announced on Twitter that new album will be released on November 24, one week after Kris Allen’s album drops, and can be pre-ordered now. The title has not yet been announced.

Allison Iraheta – Allison Iraheta’s new album is set to be released later this fall (tentative date of November 10) and can be pre-ordered now, in time for Christmas and filling those Christmas stockings. There is still no news on the cd title or tracklist of songs, sorry.

Blake Lewis – Blake Lewis’ new cd album “Heartbreak On Vinyl” is set to be released October 6, 2009 and can be pre-ordered now. Blake’s lead single on his new album, “Sad Songs”, is available on iTunes or Amazon. Lewis’ cd “Audio Day Dream” was a hit amongst many Blake fans, and his new cd is expected to be a favorite as well.

Katharine McPhee – Katharine’s new album “Unbroken” can be pre-ordered now, originally set to be released on October 6, but the release date has since been changed to January 5, 2010. Darn. The track list of songs on the 13-song sophomore album includes the album’s first single “Had It All”, which is available on iTunes or Amazon.

David Archuleta – David’s new Christmas cd entitled “Christmas From The Heart” has a release date of October 13, and can be pre-ordered now. Songs titles on this 12-song cd reportedly include old favorites “Joy To The World”, “O Come All Ye Faithful”, “The First Noel”, “I’ll Be Home For Christmas, “O Holy Night”, “Silent Night”, “What Child Is This”, “Mother’s Lullaby”, “Angels We Have Heard On High”, “Ave Maria”, “Riu Riu Chiu” and “Patapan”.

Jason Castro – Jason Castro’s new album “Let’s Just Fall In Love Again” is set to be released on November 17 and is available for pre-order now. The lead song on Jason’s upcoming album is of course Jason’s charming new single “Let’s Just Fall In Love Again”, and is now available for download on iTunes or Amazon.

American Idol is doing a special tribute to Michael Jackson on Monday, June 29th at 8 p.m EST. in honor of the King of Pop who passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2009.

American Idol is re-airing the American Idol Season 8 Top 13 episode of Michael Jackson songs, originally aired on March 10, 2009 on FOX.

This was the first time that American Idol had done an entire evening of Michael Jackson’s music, and I’m very happy that Idol is doing this special in memory of MJ.

The news of Michael Jackson’s death sent shock waves around the world, with Jackson fans in complete shock and disbelief that the King of Pop has died. Michael Jackson was only two years older than me, and I grew up listening to MJ’s music from the time I was little. Our family used to watch the Jackson Five variety show on television when Michael Jackson and his siblings were little boys and girls (LaToya and Janet), and we’ve never wavered in our admiration and deep respect for the genius that is Michael Jackson.

Michael Jackson fans are rushing to buy up as much Michael Jackson memorabilia as possible, and I don’t blame them one bit. I already have quite a lot of Michael Jackson music and the collection just keeps getting bigger. In my heart, Michael Jackson will live on forever not only as the King of Pop, but also someone who was born into the same family religion as I did.

If you ever watched the show on television years ago describing Michael Jackson’s early childhood and the abuse he suffered that was detailed in the story, you know what I’m referring to. I choose to remember Michael Jackson as not only the King of Pop, but also someone whose early childhood was very similar to my own – except for the music career part. Michael Jackson will never be forgotten.

Tune into Fox on Monday to watch the American Idol Tribute to Michael Jackson.

Doing a search for “Adam Lamberg American Idol” will bring you search results that say “Adam Lamberg Sings Michael Jackson’s Black or White”, including an Adam Lamberg Facebook page, supporting Adam Lambert. Adam Lamberg? Seriously people, it’s spelled Adam Lambert, with a “T” not a “G”, but I digress. A search for “Chris Allen American Idol” will bring you search results with much the same drivel, but just look at the Kris Allen Wiki profile page and the Adam Lambert Wiki page to learn the differences.

Kris Allen “No Boundaries” and Adam Lambert “No Boundaries” searches should come as no surprise to American Idol fans, since Kris Allen and Adam Lambert have been rocking the Top 100 iTunes Charts since Kris Allen won American Idol Season 8, and the iTunes music downloads just keep on coming, as do downloads on Amazon.com.

American Idol iTunes Downloads and American Idol Amazon.com MP3 downloads, along with products, posters, apparel and accessories like Kris Allen T-Shirts and Adam Lambert T-Shirts are the current internet buzz.

The Adam Lambert posters are HOT products for Lambert fans, as are the Kris Allen posters for teen/tween and adult fans alike.

Adam Lambert’s “Season 8 Favorites performances” was leading Kris Allen’s “Season 8 Favorites performances” and “iTunes Pass” last time I checked. It does it appear that there are more single-buying Kris Allen fans than album-buying Kris fans. Adam Lambert fans are more likely to be album-buying fans than single-buying fans, perhaps due to teenage fans not having disposable income or credit cards to purchase complete album collections versus older adult fans.

Who won American Idol 2009 Season 8? The American Idol Winner will be announced tonight on FOX for the 2 Hour Idol Grand Finale starting at 8 p.m. EST, and we’re LIVE with the May 20, 2009 American Idol Finale Results Show Recap, complete with American Idol Final performances, “Surprise” Guest Performances, Duets, VIDEOS and the announcement of Who Won American Idol 2009 between Adam Lambert and Kris Allen!

“THIS IS AMERICAN IDOL!!!” Just under 100 MILLION Votes came in, record setting number of 624 Million votes this season! Ryan introduces the Idol judges Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell.

Kris Allen and Adam Lambert walk down the stairs onto the stage. Audience going wild. Both are “nervous and excited”. Clips of LIVE broadcasts in San Diego (hosted by Carly Smithson) and Arkansas (hosted by Michaela Gordon) of fans waiting to hear who wins the American Idol crown tonight.

The Top 13 are singing “So What” by Pink. All the contestants are wearing white outfits, looking good. Group performances usually suck, and this is one isn’t much different. Pitchy in places, and finally over. Whew. VIDEO

David Cook is singing “Permanent“, the tribute song to his brother Adam who died recently from brain cancer. 100% of proceeds go to David’s charity “ABC Square”. David Cook’s single will go on sale immediately following the show tonight, so be sure to download it on iTunes! David Cook’s performance is spectacular, a blockbuster if there ever was one! The emotional performance, with David having tears in his eyes, was phenomenal. “It’s a tough song” says David to Ryan. VIDEO

Ryan is handing out the “Golden award” trophy for the worst Idol contestant wannabe from Season 8. Ugh…, the sound of these voices is painful. The winner is…. Nick Mitchell who attempted to sing “And I Am Telling You” during auditions. Oh No, Nick is now singing I’m Not Going AGAIN!!! Please No!!! Whew, that’s finally over.

Lil Rounds and Queen Latifah DUET Performance – “Cue The Rain” – Latifah doesn’t appear to really be singing and Lil Rounds is all over the place.

Alexis Grace, Anoop Desai and Jason Mraz singing “I’m Yours”. Alexis started off very off-key, but all in all, not too bad. VIDEO

More freak awards. It’s Katrina the “Bikini Girl”. She’s singing too, or at least trying to, wearing a bikini of course. Kara DioGuardi helps her on stage with the singing, and opens her black dress to reveal a black bikini!!! OMG!

Steve Martin playing banjo as Michael Sarver and Megan Joy destroy their duet song performance “Pretty Flowers” written by Steve Martin. Michael and Megan both sounded out of breath throughout the entire song, pitchy all over the place. Just BAD. VIDEO

The Top Idol guys sing Rod Stewart’s “If You Think I’m Sexy”. Rod Stewart takes the stage to sing “Maggie“. Rod is an icon, but he doesn’t sound good tonight, verrrry verrrry pitchy. How old is Rod Stewart anyway? I love ya Rod, but yikes……not a good performance. VIDEO

Oh Lord, one more Golden Award for the Idol wannabe’s. Ouch. Tatiana Del Toro wins and runs onto the stage to get her award, and starts singing while Ryan says “we have to take a break” and runs around the stage to avoid “security”. Planned….

Randy Jackson says “we’ve got ourselves a real live duel going on…just a little light for me man, ya know?” Kara says she’s glad Simon picked a “social conscience song, make them feel and make them change”. Paula says Kris “tore that song up and made Marvin Gaye proud”. Simon says Kris’ performance was like “three friends in their bedroom singing”.., adding Kris did not “grab hold of the song and too laid back for a night like this”. Uh Oh Kris! Simon Cowell says Adam Lambert won Round 2 “1 million percent for Adam”.

Adam Lambert is singing the Winner’s Coronation Song “No Boundaries“. WOW, WOW!!! Randy Jackson says “I’ve said it before I’ll say it again, you can sing anything.., you can sing the phone book, but not one of my performances, a bit pitchy for me in some spots”. Kara says she’s proud of Adam’s performance of the song she co-wrote. Paula says she’ll “be a fan forever, front line”. Simon Cowell says “you have been one of the best, original contestants on the show..I genuinely believe we have found a worldwide star in you”. Kris Allen is now singing the Winner’s Coronation Song “No Boundaries“. Kris is doing a great job, although sometimes appearing to strain to hit the higher notes. Randy Jackson says the song was a little too high for Kris. Kara DioGuardi says “I don’t want you to be judged on that song…you’ve been incredible to watch week after week…I hope people vote on the season”. Tonight’s American Idol Judges Choice and Personal Pick will begin at 8 p.m. EST, and we’ll be LIVE with review, recap, judges comments and VIDEO of tonight’s Top 3 Idol performances. Check out the American Idol Top 3 judges choice spoilers for what Adam Lambert, Kris Allen and Danny Gokey will be singing tonight on American Idol (May 12, 2009). Remember, each of the Top 3 contestants will be performing TWO songs instead of just one. Thank goodness. Hopefully we won’t have to listen to too much chatter from the judges, but rather can focus on the Top 3 singing performances instead.

THIS IS AMERICAN IDOL!!! “Heroes of their hometown” says Ryan Seacrest. This is the 300th American Idol episode. Tonight’s “Three Amigos” are about to take the Idol stage. Ryan is introducing the judges. Ryan introduces the Top 3 American Idol Finalists, asking viewers “Who will you vote for to be in the Finale?”

First up is Danny Gokey singing “Dance Little Sister” by Terrance Trent D’Arby. Paula Abdul is up on her feet dancing to Danny’s performance. Good job Danny! Uptempo, singing on key (for a change), no screaming. Randy Jackson says “that was dope for me dude”. Kara DioGuardi didn’t like the dancing “too gyrating” – “forgettable performance”. Paula loved Danny’s performance, doing a “fantastic job”. Simon Cowell says the dancing “was a bit desperate”, “vocally very good”, but didn’t care much for the sax solo and “wrong song”. Next up is Kris Allen singing “Apologize” by One Republic. Kris is playing the piano and hitting the notes wonderfully, sounding really good tonight. Great job Kris! Randy Jackson loved this performance, “it shows us what you can do in the music business in the future”. Kara said it was a “competent performance”, but says “you gotta hit it out of the park” and not behind the piano, taking more chances. Paula Abdul says “there was a bum note” but says Kris deserves to be in the Top 3. Simon tells Kara she and Randy can’t choose a song for Kris to sing but then blame Kris for doing the song with the arrangement he chose, saying Kara and Randy should have chosen the arrangement. Here comes Adam Lambert singing “One” by U2. (Simon Cowell says Bono agreed to allow Adam perform their song tonight). Starts off soft and mellow, very smooth….., then powerhouse vocals take over again. WOW Adam! Simon’s smiling and clapping. Randy Jackson says Adam “is in the zone” but wasn’t impressed with the song choice or performance, to which Simon says “booo”. Kara says Adam is a “strategist”, able to make performances “unbelievable”, doing his “own version” of the song. Paula jokes about sitting next to Simon “gloating over Adam’s performance”. Next up is Danny Gokey singing his Personal Choice song, “You Are So Beautiful” by Joe Cocker. I was very nervous Danny wouldn’t be able to pull off this song tonight, but Danny is sounding really good. Smooth, no screaming, great melody, very very good performance. Randy Jackson says “amazing song”, “you showed dude that you can really, really, really sing dawg”. Kara calls it a “stunning” performance. Paula says Danny’s changing up the “structure” of the song arrangement made for a “beautiful performance”. Simon calls it a “vocal masterclass”. Good job Danny! Kris Allen is up next with his Personal Choice song, “Heartless” by Kanye West. Kris is playing the guitar with this performance. Randy Jackson says “this is gonna be one of the toughest voting” this season, “better than the original”, “I loved it, I loved it”. Kara says it “was bold, brave and fearless”. Paula says “bravo”, “I commend you”. Simon thought it “was a lame song choice” and had “literally written you out of this competition, but that’s all changed after that performance”. Good job Kris! Adam Lambert haters will of course despise him for the “screaming”. Randy Jackson says Adam is “one of the best we’ve ever had on American Idol”; “you are a rock star baby”. Kara wonders “Who hits those notes? Adam Lambert”. Paula says “We’ll see you in the finals”. Simon Cowell says he’s “not going to suck up”, but tells Adam that Adam fans need to vote for Adam because he deserves to be in the finals based on talent. American Idol May 6, 2009 is here! We’re LIVE for tonight’s American Idol Top 4 Rock theme elimination vote. American Idol starts tonight at 9 P.M. EST, when we find out Who Got Voted Off American Idol tonight!

THIS IS AMERICAN IDOL!!! Over 64 million votes were registered for last night’s ROCK performances. WOW! Ryan introduces the Idol judges. “No Doubt is here” and Daughtry performs, as does Paula Abdul.

Next is the Ford Video Performance of Move Along. VIDEO

Here comes SLASH with the Top 4 Finalists singing “Schools Out” by Alice Cooper. They’re ROCKIN’ tonight! Yeah baby! Slash sure plays a mean guitar, and the Top 4 are doing a great job, with Adam Lambert hitting the high notes with spectacular precision. VIDEO

Ryan speaks with Slash briefly about an upcoming album but gets no details, and now we’re at a commercial. The American Idol LIVE summer tour tickets go on sale this Saturday, says Ryan.

Ryan asks the Top 4 “what’s the vibe” on Wednesday nights? Kris Allen says it’s surreal to sing before millions of people, but Simon Cowell tells Kris “we don’t want humble anymore” but that Kris should feel like he deserves to be on American Idol. Adam Lambert says he’s been having a blast, and loved his outfit last night. Danny Gokey says he was laughing the whole night after watching the playback video, and referred to the ending of his Dream On song as a “horror scream”. Yeah it was! Allison says she felt the need to speak up for herself about her song choice for last night when Simon criticized her. VIDEO

Paula Abdul is up singing (lip-synching) I’m Just Here For The Music. Paula’s performance was pre-taped last night, as was No Doubt’s performance. The only LIVE performance tonight is by Chris Daughtry. Paula is wearing a short, green and black outfit, moving around the stage with her backup dancers during her performance. The song is uptempo/techno sounding and actually sounds pretty good, but I may have to listen to it a few times to get hooked on it enough to download it. VIDEO

Paula Abdul did a quick clothes change and Ryan asks Paula “Why now” about why perform her song on American Idol. She says Idol is the greatest place to perform her new single.

No Doubt is on stage singing I’m Just A Girl. No Doubt is actually doing push-ups on the stage while singing. Umm, why? No Doubt (Gwen Stafani) is a very popular performer, but I don’t get the fascination, sorry. VIDEO

The Results Are In! Video clips of previous hometown visits are shown, since hometown visits for the Top 4 are on the line tonight. The Top 4 Finalists take the stage, and the lights are dimmed. Here we go. VIDEO

Love me some Daughtry… Definitely have to dig up the Lyrics to No Surprise right after American Idol ends tonight. The song and performance is great! Chris Daughtry tells Ryan Seacrest that his elimination from American Idol felt like the “world was coming to an end, but I got over it 30 seconds later”. No kidding – Chris Daughtry ROCKS!!! Who Got Voted Off American Idol?? The second person who is in the Top 3 (in random order) and headed to their hometown is ADAM LAMBERT!!!! Adam Lambert is SAFE!!!

Danny Gokey is SAFE and Allison Iraheta got voted off American Idol! Definitely didn’t see that one coming! Predictions had Danny Gokey or Kris Allen going home tonight! Wow. Shocker!!! MAJOR UPSET! Just 17 years old, Allison Iraheta once again rocks out to Janis Joplin’s Cry Baby. Allison Iraheta fans have been desperately wanting to hear Allison sing Piece Of My Heart by Janis Joplin, but it’s not going to happen on American Idol. VIDEO

The Top 3 American Idol Theme Next Week – Top 3 Finalists (Adam Lambert, Kris Allen and Danny Gokey) take on Judges Choice and their Personal Pick. TWO Songs for each next week. Hometown visits happen on Friday next week, and by then we’ll know the Judges Choices.
