American Idol 4/14/09 has finally arrived! Quentin Tarrantino is tonight’s American Idol mentor, which should make tonight’s Top 7 performances very interesting. “This is American Idol”, says Idol host Ryan Seacrest. Quentin Tarrantino was an Idol judge during Season 3, and he holds no punches in his reviews of Idol performances.

Due to the complaints American Idol and FOX received because Idol ran late last week, only two Idol judges will speak to comment and critique each of the American Idol performances tonight. That should (hopefully) keep things rolling!

First to sing is Allison Iraheta singing “Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” by Aerosmith. Allison is “one talented young lady”, and that’s exactly what Paula Abdul says too. Simon Cowell says Allison is “the girls only hope in this competition” and “we may see Allison all the way to end of the competition”. Allison should be very proud of her accomplishments thus far, and I can’t help but agree that Allison deserves to be in the Top 3 at this point in the competition, unless Allison really screws up with song choices or performances in coming weeks.
