Randy Jackson Leaving American Idol Too…

Is Randy Jackson leaving American Idol? It was only a matter of time before news and blog reports would come out saying that Randy Jackson is leaving American Idol too, after Season 9, to join Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul on X Factor.

Randy Jackson was interviewed by the LATimes about his future on Idol, and low and behold, Jackson isn’t giving an official exit statement quite yet but…

Just like Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul did about their plans to leave American Idol, the hype and buzz about their possible plans to leave the show went on for far too long.

“We have a theory that — with Cowell leaving, Paula Abdul being a free agent for now, and (as reported) you signing a three-year extension in 2006 — the original “Idol” dream team could reunite on “The X-Factor.” Care to respond?”

Jackson replies, “You know, there’s a song by the Fray that I really love. It’s called “Never Say Never.”

In the Feb 15th edition of The National Enquirer, a tipster spills the beans that yes, Randy Jackson is leaving American Idol.

“Randy was basically told that there was a very good chance he was not going to be asked back after this season,” said the tipster. “Now that Simon’s leaving at the end of the season, they are rethinking the roles of the other judges — and that includes Randy…..”

Randy Jackson has just one more year left on his contract with FOX, and even though Jackson isn’t making an official statement quite yet, Idol fans and Jackson fans might as well start getting used to the idea that all of the original judges for American Idol are walking away from the mega-hit reality show.

What will happen to American Idol after Season 9 is anyone’s guess. Cancelled due to low ratings? Can Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres (and any other judges or guest judges brought in) keep Idol alive, perhaps increase ratings and viewership? Personally, I highly doubt it.

Ellen DeGeneres may do well as a judge on American Idol, we’ll just have to wait and see. With Kara, I can take her or leave her, it makes no difference to me. But now that we know the hype, buzz and rumors about Randy Jackson leaving American Idol are all over the net, it’s a good guess that once Season nine is over and done with, Idol will be gone too.

Replaced by X Factor, with Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson as judges.

Tonight’s American Idol Judges Choice and Personal Pick will begin at 8 p.m. EST, and we’ll be LIVE with review, recap, judges comments and VIDEO of tonight’s Top 3 Idol performances. Check out the American Idol Top 3 judges choice spoilers for what Adam Lambert, Kris Allen and Danny Gokey will be singing tonight on American Idol (May 12, 2009). Remember, each of the Top 3 contestants will be performing TWO songs instead of just one. Thank goodness. Hopefully we won’t have to listen to too much chatter from the judges, but rather can focus on the Top 3 singing performances instead.

THIS IS AMERICAN IDOL!!! “Heroes of their hometown” says Ryan Seacrest. This is the 300th American Idol episode. Tonight’s “Three Amigos” are about to take the Idol stage. Ryan is introducing the judges. Ryan introduces the Top 3 American Idol Finalists, asking viewers “Who will you vote for to be in the Finale?”

First up is Danny Gokey singing “Dance Little Sister” by Terrance Trent D’Arby. Paula Abdul is up on her feet dancing to Danny’s performance. Good job Danny! Uptempo, singing on key (for a change), no screaming. Randy Jackson says “that was dope for me dude”. Kara DioGuardi didn’t like the dancing “too gyrating” – “forgettable performance”. Paula loved Danny’s performance, doing a “fantastic job”. Simon Cowell says the dancing “was a bit desperate”, “vocally very good”, but didn’t care much for the sax solo and “wrong song”. Next up is Kris Allen singing “Apologize” by One Republic. Kris is playing the piano and hitting the notes wonderfully, sounding really good tonight. Great job Kris! Randy Jackson loved this performance, “it shows us what you can do in the music business in the future”. Kara said it was a “competent performance”, but says “you gotta hit it out of the park” and not behind the piano, taking more chances. Paula Abdul says “there was a bum note” but says Kris deserves to be in the Top 3. Simon tells Kara she and Randy can’t choose a song for Kris to sing but then blame Kris for doing the song with the arrangement he chose, saying Kara and Randy should have chosen the arrangement. Here comes Adam Lambert singing “One” by U2. (Simon Cowell says Bono agreed to allow Adam perform their song tonight). Starts off soft and mellow, very smooth….., then powerhouse vocals take over again. WOW Adam! Simon’s smiling and clapping. Randy Jackson says Adam “is in the zone” but wasn’t impressed with the song choice or performance, to which Simon says “booo”. Kara says Adam is a “strategist”, able to make performances “unbelievable”, doing his “own version” of the song. Paula jokes about sitting next to Simon “gloating over Adam’s performance”. Next up is Danny Gokey singing his Personal Choice song, “You Are So Beautiful” by Joe Cocker. I was very nervous Danny wouldn’t be able to pull off this song tonight, but Danny is sounding really good. Smooth, no screaming, great melody, very very good performance. Randy Jackson says “amazing song”, “you showed dude that you can really, really, really sing dawg”. Kara calls it a “stunning” performance. Paula says Danny’s changing up the “structure” of the song arrangement made for a “beautiful performance”. Simon calls it a “vocal masterclass”. Good job Danny! Kris Allen is up next with his Personal Choice song, “Heartless” by Kanye West. Kris is playing the guitar with this performance. Randy Jackson says “this is gonna be one of the toughest voting” this season, “better than the original”, “I loved it, I loved it”. Kara says it “was bold, brave and fearless”. Paula says “bravo”, “I commend you”. Simon thought it “was a lame song choice” and had “literally written you out of this competition, but that’s all changed after that performance”. Good job Kris! Adam Lambert takes the stage to sing the last song of the night and his Personal Choice song, “Cryin” by Aerosmith. True Adam Lambert all the way. Adam Lambert haters will of course despise him for the “screaming”. Randy Jackson says Adam is “one of the best we’ve ever had on American Idol”; “you are a rock star baby”. Kara wonders “Who hits those notes? Adam Lambert”. Paula says “We’ll see you in the finals”. Simon Cowell says he’s “not going to suck up”, but tells Adam that Adam fans need to vote for Adam because he deserves to be in the finals based on talent. American Idol 4/21/09 is here finally! The American Idol Top 7 sing DISCO tonight, and we’re here LIVE to watch the Idol performances and bring you the judges comments and VIDEO of the performances. There have been various “American Idol Spoilers” circulating the net about what songs each of the Top 7 will sing tonight, but there are also many trustworthy people saying the “spoilers” are fakes, and that’s why we’re not posting any spoilers unless we have every reason to believe they’re real.

It’s DISCO night on American Idol! “This is American Idol!” Ryan Seacrest reminds us that on tomorrow night’s Results show, TWO of the Idol TOP 7 will be voted off American Idol, so remember to VOTE!

Lil Rounds is first up singing “I’m Every Woman” by Chaka Khan. Lil Rounds is doing a pretty good job with her performance tonight, but let’s see what the judges have to say. Randy Jackson says “it sounded so wild” and “didn’t really show us what kind of vocal control you can have”. Kara DioGuardi said “I’m not sure it was worth the wait” and Lil “still didn’t tell me who you are as an artist”. Paula Abdul says Lil was “hot tonight” but “didn’t make the boiling point”. Simon Cowell says he’s glad Lil had fun but thinks this week is Lil’s “final shot”. Wow, all four Idol judges weren’t at all pleased with Lil Rounds performance. I didn’t think it was THAT bad! Kris Allen is next to perform and he’s singing “She Works Hard For The Money” by Donna Summer. Kris is playing the guitar, and Kris’ performance is quite a bit slower and more mellow than the version Donna Summer did during the Disco days. Kris definitely changed things up and made the song his own, but I don’t know if I like this one personally, but that’s only because I love me some Donna Summer. Kara DioGuardi says Kris “took a big risk but it paid of big time”. Paula Abdul says the performance had a “classy” style to it, also commenting on Kris’ outfit. Simon Cowell said “that was not karaoke”, “was original and a fantastic performance”. Randy Jackson says Kris is “ready for the big time”. Danny Gokiey takes the Idol stage singing “September” by Earth, Wind and Fire. Paula Abdul is dancing at her seat, and I can see why.

Danny is sounding pretty darn good tonight! Overall, I liked Danny’s performance. Randy Jackson says he was a bit worried but that Danny “really turned this to work it out for you”. Kara DioGuardi says Danny is an “incredible vocalist” and his “pitch is always on”. Paula Abdul says Danny “has one of the sexiest voices” and women of all ages will love Danny Gokey. Allison Iraheta is singing “Hot Stuff” by Donna Summer. Allison is really rockin’ her performance tonight! Wow Allison! I am soooo going to download Allison’s performance!!! Randy Jackson says “it was a little over-indulgent” but that Allison is “one of the best singers” in the competition but didn’t really like the arrangement. Kara DioGuardi also didn’t like the arrangement, but agrees with Randy that her vocals were excellent. Paula Abdul says Allison “hit it out of the park” and Simon Cowell says it “was a brilliant performance”. The moment American Idol is over tonight, I’m downloading Hot Stuff immediately! Adam Lambert is next up, singing “If I Can’t Have You” by the Bee Gees. Adam Lambert is simply spectacular tonight in my opinion, but the haters will say Adam was screaming and screeching. Whatever. Randy Jackson says “you are ready right now”, saying “he is a Hot One tonight America!” Kara DioGuardi says the way Adam connects with the audience is inspiring, and says the performance was spectacular. Paula Abdul appears choked up, with lips quivering and says “you will be in the finals”. Simon Cowell says “the vocals were immaculate”. Simon Cowell is clapping his hands for Adam’s performance! Next up is Matt Giraud singing “Staying Alive” by the Bee Gees. I really like Matt Giraud and I enjoy listening to Matt sing, but I don’t care much when he attempts to sing too high for his vocal range ability, as he does in this performance. Randy Jackson didn’t like the song choice, didn’t like the arrangement but says “you can really sing dude”. Kara says the “vocals were pretty good”, a good/solid performance. Paula Abdul says after tonight’s performance, Matt “is staying”. Simon Cowell says the performance came across as “desperate”, with no originality and “not a huge fan of that one”. Uh-Oh Matt?! Last to sing tonight is Anoop Desai singing “Dim All The Lights” by Donna Summer. Randy Jackson says that Anoop can sing too “nice, baby nice”. Simon Cowell says “it was mediocre at best”, a “horrible version of that song”, “genuinely your worst performance”. Uh Oh Anoop! I didn’t like that one at all! Last night on American Idol the Top 7 Finalists sang songs of the cinema, and if the “Dial Idol” predictions are correct of who will be voted off American Idol, there could be a major upset on tonight’s results show! Miley Cyrus (pre-taped) is scheduled to perform her new song “Climb” tonight, and GRAMMY award winner Jennifer Hudson (American Idol Season 3 Finalist) will be performing “If This Isn’t Love” on the American Idol Results Show tonight!

The Results Are In!!! Will the Idol judges use their veto “save” vote tonight, and save the Idol contestant with the lowest number of votes from elimination?!

American Idol host, Ryan Seacrest, introduces the Top 7 to the stage. “Will your favorite be eliminated tonight”? says Ryan. All four judges are introduced as usual.

Next is the American Idol Ford Video performance, showing the Top 7 on magazine covers singing “Freeze Frame“.

The Top 7 Idol Finalists are singing the group performance song “Maniac“. Sounding really good! Danny Gokey has the glasses back on tonight, and each of the finalists are doing a great job singing Maniac! Hitting the high notes perfectly and keeping up a great rhythm throughout the group performance. Great job!

Quentin Tarrantino was last night’s ‘mentor’ for the Top 7, and Ryan talks to the finalists about that and shows video of when the finalists went to the Movie Premiere of “17 Again”, coming out this Friday. It’s an interesting video clip, but seems to be taking up too much time tonight. Let’s get to the results already! Zac Efron is in the audience too.

Jennifer Hudson takes the stage singing “If This Isn’t Love” and OH MY GOD Jennifer Hudson is an amazing singer! What a beautiful song, and what vocal pipes Jennifer has on her! Great job Jennifer!

I am soooo going to download If This Isn’t Love!!! Great job Jennifer! Amazing! Recently engaged to get married, Ryan Seacrest jokingly tries to get Jennifer to say the wedding date of her upcoming nuptials, but of course Jennifer isn’t going to do that for privacy reasons.

Miley Cyrus is singing her new song “Climb” in a pre-taped Idol performance. Miley Cyrus is definitely coming into her own as she gets older and develops stronger vocals. She sounds really good. I’m not liking her hairstyle tonight at all…, her hair is hanging in her eyes and looking very messy! What’s up with the hair Miley?! All in all, Miley’s performance was spectacular, minus the crazy wild hair.

So, who got voted off American Idol tonight? ….. With over 36 million votes……Matt Giraud had the lowest number of votes and was voted off from American Idol Season 8 tonight. Will the Judges use their veto SAVE vote to save Matt? OH MY GOD! Matt is having to endure that horrible feeling of singing “To Really Love a Woman” one more time in hopes of being saved tonight. I hate this part! It’s like begging for your life!

Simon Cowell says Matt wasn’t as good tonight as he was last night.Â Whooohooooo! Matt Giraud was SAVED BY THE JUDGES TONIGHT ON AMERICAN IDOL! Wow!!! NO ONE GOES HOME TONIGHT!!!!

Simon Cowell says next week TWO CONTESTANTS WILL BE VOTED OFF!!! Oh NOOO!

American Idol 4-21-09 Theme Next Week Spoiler! The American Idol Top 6 Finalists theme next week is DISCO!, according to Idol judge Paula Abdul, whose theme spoiler comes even before tonight’s elimination vote.

During her weekly interview with John Jay and Rich from the Phoenix KISS radio station, Paula Abdul says next week’s theme is Disco! Paula also said that she’ll be choreographing the American Idol Group Performance next week, so hopefully we won’t all be bored to tears watching the Top 6 fumble during those ridiculous group performances. Ugh!

Paula didn’t name a “mentor” for next week’s Idol Disco night, even saying she doesn’t think there will be a “mentor” next week.

Paula also mentioned being concerned about Matt Giraud and Lil Rounds, as possibly being in trouble of elimination after last night’s Songs of the Cinema performances. Paula said Matt Giraud nailed his song during the rehearsals.

Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell have both said they hated not being able to comment on each Idol performance last night. Paula told John Jay and Rich that she didn’t know about the “two judge” rule until show time. The “two judge” commenting was first going to be split by gender, but everything was changed up at the last minute just before Idol started.

According to Dial Idol predictions (dialidol.com), both Matt Giraud and Kris Allen being in the Bottom 3 tonight, along with Allison Iraheta! The odds at this point, just a few hours before tonight’s “who got voted off American Idol?” results show, are that either Matt Giraud or Kris Allen will be voted off tonight.

The American Idol theme for March 31, 2009 will be “Top Downloads“, and by that we assume Top 100 iTunes downloads, according to news spreading around the net, ever since Idol host Ryan Seacrest announced the Top 9 Idol contestants will be singing songs from “top downloads”.

Past American Idol Season 7 champ, David Cook, will return to the Idol stage performing on this week’s Top Downloads results show airing on Wednesday, April 1, 2009. David Cook will perform Come Back To Me, the latest single off of his self-titled debut album.

This is David Cook’s first return visit to the American Idol stage since being crowned winner of American Idol Season 7, in the midst of Cook’s headline tour that started February 13th and venue locations have been sold out, with David Cook fans anxious to see their past Idol favorite.

Also performing on the same night of American Idol’s Top Downloads is Lady GaGa, singing her hit single Poker Face. Lady Gaga’s debut album entitled “The Fame” was released in 2008, and the hit single “Just Dance” received Grammy attention for Best Dance Recording.

Who got voted off American Idol on 3-18-09? Who is safe on American Idol Season 8? American Idol performances last night had American Idol fans transfixed with anticipation and excitement. Tonight’s results show decides who is safe and who is eliminated from the Idol competition.

Who got voted off? Who were in the Bottom Three? Who is safe? Brad Paisley performed his song “Then” on the American Idol Results show tonight and audience loved it, and Randy Jackson said it was “dope”.

Carrie Underwood and Randy Travis performed together, singing “I Told You So“, and it sounded simply beautiful. Of course, I could have told you it would sound wonderful, seeing how great Carrie Underwood and Randy Travis are as singers. What did you think of their performances?

Alexis Grace

Allison Iraheta was saved and that left Michael Sarver and Alexis Grace in the bottom two.

Alexis Grace, who sang “Jolene”, was voted off and eliminated from American Idol Season 8. All four judges deliberated during Alexis’ final performance and decided against using their “veto vote” to save Alexis.

American Idol 3/17/09 was the night for a country music theme, with country music star Randy Travis serving as mentor.

The first American Idol to perform was Michael Sarver, who sang Garth Brook’s “Ain’t Goin Down Til The Sun Comes Up“. The judges weren’t very impressed. Simon Cowell hated it and said he couldn’t understand a single word Michael was singing. Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul said it was “fun” but they missed hearing Michael’s vocal range, and Paula said country music was the genre that suits Michael.

Next up was Allison Iraheta singing “Blame It On Your Heart” by Patty Loveless. All four judges agreed Allison’s performance was a good one. Kara DioGuardi gave Allison props for making the song her own. Paula said it was a rock-solid performance. Randy Jackson said the song performance was “dope”. Dear ol’ Simon Cowell didn’t feel the performance was that great, saying it was a bit out of tune at times, but overall felt she did a decent job.

Next was Kris Allen, who sang “To Make You Feel My Love” by Garth Brooks. The judges were all surprisingly impressed with the performance, even without the guitar. Paula said she was “pleasantly surprised”. Simon said Kris did a “terrific” job and called Kris a “tender dog.”

Lil Rounds was next with her version of Martina McBride’s “Independence Day“. Lil Rounds is still growing on me, but her performance and song choice just didn’t seem right, but I can’t put my finger on why. Is it just me or did Lil Rounds sound off-key some of the time? Randy said it was an ambitious song choice but it didn’t feel comfortable to him. Paula must have missed the vocals I heard because Paula thought Lil Rounds was right on target with the performance. Simon Cowell said she sounded like a girl trying to sing a song at a wedding that she didn’t like. Ouch.

Next up was American Idol Fan Site favorite Adam Lambert singing “Ring of Fire” by Johnny Cash. I was a tad nervous when Adam first started singing Ring of Fire, because he’s rather unpredictable and no one is ever quite sure what Adam is going to do. Paula and Kara DioGuardi liked it and Kara said it was “strangely entertaining”. Simon said “What the hell was that?!” and called the performance “indulgent rubbish”. Randy equated Adam’s performance as being like Nine Inch Nails doing a country song, but he said it was “fresh” and current. Strange but good is the way I would it, and the Adam Lambert Ring of Fire Video has been a hot search topic ever since.

Scott MacIntyre sang “Wild Angels” by Martina McBride, at the piano. It was okay…I guess. It started off pretty boring, but towards the end his voice soared. The judges agreed that Scott chooses songs that are too safe, just like the songs Scott has performed over the last couple of weeks, and I have to agree. Paula Abdul said Scott should ditch the piano. Simon said Paula’s comment was disrespectful and told Scott he’s choosing songs that aren’t right for him, are not good enough to stay in the competition. Yeah, I’d have to agree with Simon on that one.

Next was Alexis Grace, who did an okay job singing Dolly Parton’s song “Jolene“. I’m used to hearing her strong vocals, but this performance was rather drab and boring. Trying to “make a song your own” is one thing, but this attempt fell flat, and the judges negative feedback proved they agreed. Randy said the song choice was a good one but the performance itself was not her best. Kara heard it the same way I did and said it was a little flat. Paula, oh Paula, said she liked it and Simon said it was okay…

Recent widower Danny Gokey sang “Jesus Take the Wheel” by Carrie Underwood. I sat on the edge of my seat waiting to see how Danny would do performing this song, but he got through it alright and overall did a pretty decent job. Paula and Simon like the performance, but Simon hated what Danny was wearing. Kara and Randy heard some pitch problems during the first half, but the choruses were great.

Anoop Desai performed Willie Nelson’s “Always On My Mind” and the judges were unanimous with their praise, proclaiming Anoop as the best performance of the night. Simon said he went from Zero to Hero with that performance and arrangement. Anoop is also growing on me, and I must agree that he did a great job performing this song, but I just think there are better singers in this competition. We’ll just have to wait and see how it goes with Anoop.

Surprisingly enough, Megan Joy Corkrey did a great job singing Patsy Cline’s “Walkin After Midnight“. Just like Randy Jackson, I also thought the performance would be a train wreck, but we were both impressed. Kara and Paula commented on how Megan sang while having the flu, adding that the performance was great whether Megan had the flu or not. Jokingly, Simon Cowell said she should have the flu every week.

The last performance of the night was Matt Giraud, who sang “So Small” by Carrie Underwood with good results. Kara DioGuardi felt the performance was amazing and said “there ain’t nothin’ small about you”. Randy said he feels that Matt’s performance was his personal favorite of the night. Simon said that Matt hasn’t yet gotten the credit he deserves for his vocals and that he outsang Danny Gokey.

American Idol Season 8 is a favorite amongst Idol fans, and there has been a lot of controversy over Season 8 performer Adam Lambert, especially after pictures of Lambert kissing a guy surfaced and made its way around the internet. Is Adam Lambert Gay? became the question American Idol worshipers wanted to know, but Idol fans don’t appear to be too concerned with Lambert’s personal preferences, especially when you consider Idol Judge Paula Abdul’s comment that American Idol’s 2009 “Gay Idol” Adam Lambert will surely make it to the Top 2 on American Idol. “Adam is Gay” Photos:
