American Idol 4/13/11 Songs From the Movies Theme and Pia Toscano Fans are MAD!

Many American Idol fans were not only shocked at the elimination of Pia Toscano last Thursday, but TMZ reports that American Idol and FOX bigwigs are being inundated with demands to bring back Pia and give Stefano Langone the boot.

According to TMZ “spies”, ‘hundreds of fans have been begging FOX to recognized the injustice of kicking Pia off the show, and bend the rules. It appears these fans are organized, because they come with a singular message — Stefano has no chance of winning and therefore he should be removed now as a sacrificial lamb so Pia can come back.’

“We’re told the fans have even reached out to Stefano … pleading with him to remove himself from the competition”, says TMZ. It’s worth a shot, I suppose, but the chances of American Idol bringing Pia back even if Stefano opts out of the show is likely slim to none. American Idol reported that Pia Toscano was voted off Idol because she received the fewest number of votes from fans and therefore was sent home.

It would be interesting to at least know the total number of votes received, as Ryan Seacrest often gives at the beginning of the results show on Thursday nights. The lack of voter number totals being mentioned during the show gives the implication that people are just not voting, perhaps assuming others will text or vote online for their favorite(s) instead and can slack off themselves. How Pia Toscano’s elimination from the show will or won’t affect the show’s ratings and viewer numbers remains to be seen, but many Pia fans have said they’re fed up and won’t watch Idol anymore.

On Wednesday night, 4/13/11, the American Idol Top 8 finalists (Casey Abrams, Lauren Alaina, James Durbin, Stefano Langone, Jacob Lusk, Scotty McCreery, Paul McDonald and Haley Reinhart) will sing “Songs From the Movies” as this week’s theme. Then on Thursday night, 4/14/11, the live results show will reveal which of the Top 8 received the lowest number of votes and will be voted off.

Performances on Thursday night include Grammy Award-winning pop star Rihanna, and past American Idol Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson with country music star Jason Aldean performing their #1 Billboard Country Singles duet song “Don’t You Wanna Stay” from Jason’s My Kinda Party album.

The “Don’t You Wanna Stay” duet by Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson is a great song. Check out this video of their performance on the Country Music Awards (CMA) show. Love it!

Will Young’s “Leave Right Now” is the name of the American Idol elimination song at the end of American Idol 9 when a contestant is kicked off the show. Some refer to this popular song as the “boot” song, elimination song or exit song. With the bad reviews season 9 has been receiving thus far, horrible singing and poor song choice by many contestants, there is at least a lot of interest in Will Young’s song.

Kimberly Caldwell New Song “Mess Of You” Debuts – Without Regret Album

American Idol Season 2 finalist Kimberly Caldwell’s new song “Mess Of You”, from her upcoming album entitled Without Regrets on Vanguard Records, is sure to be a hit amongst Caldwell fans. “Mess Of You” is one of the songs included on Kimberly’s new album, and is scheduled to be released in April 2010.

Kimberly performed a showcase of songs from the new album in Los Angeles on December 10, and her strong vocal abilities shows through loud and clear. Caldwell is smoking hot in the looks department, and the husky/raspy voice she’s well known for is a personal favorite, and we’re thrilled she’s finally releasing a full album after six long years of waiting.

Yahoo Music’s Lyndsey Parker was there and offers this in her review of Kimberly Caldwell’s debut album:

“I must say, was extremely impressed by what I heard today. Her voice was stronger and bolder than I remember from her Idol days, and her songs were tough ‘n’ tender in that instantly clicky Kelly Clarkson-ish way (more like Kelly’s misunderstood, Benatarian third album, My December, with a little bit of Allison Iraheta-esque swagger thrown in–all very good things, in my opinion).”

Kimberly Caldwell has been staying in the spotlight hosting the TV Guide Channel’s Reality Chat show and MTV’s talent show P. Diddy’s Starmaker, but fans have been anxiously waiting to hear her sing and for the release of her own album since being an Idol contestant oh-so-long ago. Gotta love her Melissa Ethridge-like rock vocals (think “Come To My Window”), and the video clips below shows Caldwell is staying true to form.

Doing a search for “Adam Lamberg American Idol” will bring you search results that say “Adam Lamberg Sings Michael Jackson’s Black or White”, including an Adam Lamberg Facebook page, supporting Adam Lambert. Adam Lamberg? Seriously people, it’s spelled Adam Lambert, with a “T” not a “G”, but I digress. A search for “Chris Allen American Idol” will bring you search results with much the same drivel, but just look at the Kris Allen Wiki profile page and the Adam Lambert Wiki page to learn the differences.

Kris Allen “No Boundaries” and Adam Lambert “No Boundaries” searches should come as no surprise to American Idol fans, since Kris Allen and Adam Lambert have been rocking the Top 100 iTunes Charts since Kris Allen won American Idol Season 8, and the iTunes music downloads just keep on coming, as do downloads on Amazon.com.

American Idol iTunes Downloads and American Idol Amazon.com MP3 downloads, along with products, posters, apparel and accessories like Kris Allen T-Shirts and Adam Lambert T-Shirts are the current internet buzz.

The Adam Lambert posters are HOT products for Lambert fans, as are the Kris Allen posters for teen/tween and adult fans alike.

Adam Lambert’s “Season 8 Favorites performances” was leading Kris Allen’s “Season 8 Favorites performances” and “iTunes Pass” last time I checked. It does it appear that there are more single-buying Kris Allen fans than album-buying Kris fans. Adam Lambert fans are more likely to be album-buying fans than single-buying fans, perhaps due to teenage fans not having disposable income or credit cards to purchase complete album collections versus older adult fans.

Who won American Idol 2009 Season 8? The American Idol Winner will be announced tonight on FOX for the 2 Hour Idol Grand Finale starting at 8 p.m. EST, and we’re LIVE with the May 20, 2009 American Idol Finale Results Show Recap, complete with American Idol Final performances, “Surprise” Guest Performances, Duets, VIDEOS and the announcement of Who Won American Idol 2009 between Adam Lambert and Kris Allen!

“THIS IS AMERICAN IDOL!!!” Just under 100 MILLION Votes came in, record setting number of 624 Million votes this season! Ryan introduces the Idol judges Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell.

Kris Allen and Adam Lambert walk down the stairs onto the stage. Audience going wild. Both are “nervous and excited”. Clips of LIVE broadcasts in San Diego (hosted by Carly Smithson) and Arkansas (hosted by Michaela Gordon) of fans waiting to hear who wins the American Idol crown tonight.

The Top 13 are singing “So What” by Pink. All the contestants are wearing white outfits, looking good. Group performances usually suck, and this is one isn’t much different. Pitchy in places, and finally over. Whew. VIDEO

David Cook is singing “Permanent“, the tribute song to his brother Adam who died recently from brain cancer. 100% of proceeds go to David’s charity “ABC Square”. David Cook’s single will go on sale immediately following the show tonight, so be sure to download it on iTunes! David Cook’s performance is spectacular, a blockbuster if there ever was one! The emotional performance, with David having tears in his eyes, was phenomenal. “It’s a tough song” says David to Ryan. VIDEO

Ryan is handing out the “Golden award” trophy for the worst Idol contestant wannabe from Season 8. Ugh…, the sound of these voices is painful. The winner is…. Nick Mitchell who attempted to sing “And I Am Telling You” during auditions. Oh No, Nick is now singing I’m Not Going AGAIN!!! Please No!!! Whew, that’s finally over.

Lil Rounds and Queen Latifah DUET Performance – “Cue The Rain” – Latifah doesn’t appear to really be singing and Lil Rounds is all over the place.

Alexis Grace, Anoop Desai and Jason Mraz singing “I’m Yours”. Alexis started off very off-key, but all in all, not too bad. VIDEO

More freak awards. It’s Katrina the “Bikini Girl”. She’s singing too, or at least trying to, wearing a bikini of course. Kara DioGuardi helps her on stage with the singing, and opens her black dress to reveal a black bikini!!! OMG!

Allison Iraheta and Cyndi Lauper duet performance “Time After Time”. Cyndi’s playing the autoharp. Not bad at all. VIDEO

Danny Gokey sings “Hello” and then the duet medley performance with Lionel Richie of some of Lionel’s hits. Very good performance. VIDEO

Steve Martin playing banjo as Michael Sarver and Megan Joy destroy their duet song performance “Pretty Flowers” written by Steve Martin. Michael and Megan both sounded out of breath throughout the entire song, pitchy all over the place. Just BAD. VIDEO

The Top Idol guys sing Rod Stewart’s “If You Think I’m Sexy”. Rod Stewart takes the stage to sing “Maggie“. Rod is an icon, but he doesn’t sound good tonight, verrrry verrrry pitchy. How old is Rod Stewart anyway? I love ya Rod, but yikes……not a good performance. VIDEO

Oh Lord, one more Golden Award for the Idol wannabe’s. Ouch. Tatiana Del Toro wins and runs onto the stage to get her award, and starts singing while Ryan says “we have to take a break” and runs around the stage to avoid “security”. Planned….

Randy Jackson says “we’ve got ourselves a real live duel going on…just a little light for me man, ya know?” Kara says she’s glad Simon picked a “social conscience song, make them feel and make them change”. Paula says Kris “tore that song up and made Marvin Gaye proud”. Simon says Kris’ performance was like “three friends in their bedroom singing”.., adding Kris did not “grab hold of the song and too laid back for a night like this”. Uh Oh Kris! Simon Cowell says Adam Lambert won Round 2 “1 million percent for Adam”.

Adam Lambert is singing the Winner’s Coronation Song “No Boundaries“. WOW, WOW!!! Randy Jackson says “I’ve said it before I’ll say it again, you can sing anything.., you can sing the phone book, but not one of my performances, a bit pitchy for me in some spots”. Kara says she’s proud of Adam’s performance of the song she co-wrote. Paula says she’ll “be a fan forever, front line”. Simon Cowell says “you have been one of the best, original contestants on the show..I genuinely believe we have found a worldwide star in you”. Fabulous, spectacular performance by Adam Lambert tonight! (Problem is, Kara DioGuardi’s “No Boundaries” Lyrics SUCK! Very Kindergarten! Neither Adam nor Kris Allen should have to get stuck with this pathetic attempt of a song. Ick.)

Kris Allen is now singing the Winner’s Coronation Song “No Boundaries“. Kris is doing a great job, although sometimes appearing to strain to hit the higher notes. Randy Jackson says the song was a little too high for Kris. Kara DioGuardi says “I don’t want you to be judged on that song…you’ve been incredible to watch week after week…I hope people vote on the season”. Paula says “You should take it in…amazing job…I wish you the best of luck”. Simon Cowell says “I think the first song was your highlight…watching you tonight has been incredible…you have thoroughly deserved to be standing on this stage tonight, congratulations.”

American Idol Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks is singing “Battlefield”, with Ryan Tedder on piano. Jordin looks beautiful in her black shimmery short dress, but there’s some very obvious rough notes (pitchy) right from the start of the performance. Tonight’s American Idol Judges Choice and Personal Pick will begin at 8 p.m. EST, and we’ll be LIVE with review, recap, judges comments and VIDEO of tonight’s Top 3 Idol performances. Check out the American Idol Top 3 judges choice spoilers for what Adam Lambert, Kris Allen and Danny Gokey will be singing tonight on American Idol (May 12, 2009). Remember, each of the Top 3 contestants will be performing TWO songs instead of just one. Thank goodness. Hopefully we won’t have to listen to too much chatter from the judges, but rather can focus on the Top 3 singing performances instead.

THIS IS AMERICAN IDOL!!! “Heroes of their hometown” says Ryan Seacrest. This is the 300th American Idol episode. Tonight’s “Three Amigos” are about to take the Idol stage. Ryan is introducing the judges. Ryan introduces the Top 3 American Idol Finalists, asking viewers “Who will you vote for to be in the Finale?”

First up is Danny Gokey singing “Dance Little Sister” by Terrance Trent D’Arby. Paula Abdul is up on her feet dancing to Danny’s performance. Good job Danny! Uptempo, singing on key (for a change), no screaming. Randy Jackson says “that was dope for me dude”. Kara DioGuardi didn’t like the dancing “too gyrating” – “forgettable performance”. Paula loved Danny’s performance, doing a “fantastic job”. Simon Cowell says the dancing “was a bit desperate”, “vocally very good”, but didn’t care much for the sax solo and “wrong song”. Next up is Kris Allen singing “Apologize” by One Republic. Kris is playing the piano and hitting the notes wonderfully, sounding really good tonight. Great job Kris! Randy Jackson loved this performance, “it shows us what you can do in the music business in the future”. Kara said it was a “competent performance”, but says “you gotta hit it out of the park” and not behind the piano, taking more chances. Paula Abdul says “there was a bum note” but says Kris deserves to be in the Top 3. Simon tells Kara she and Randy can’t choose a song for Kris to sing but then blame Kris for doing the song with the arrangement he chose, saying Kara and Randy should have chosen the arrangement. Here comes Adam Lambert singing “One” by U2. (Simon Cowell says Bono agreed to allow Adam perform their song tonight). Starts off soft and mellow, very smooth….., then powerhouse vocals take over again. WOW Adam! Simon’s smiling and clapping. Randy Jackson says Adam “is in the zone” but wasn’t impressed with the song choice or performance, to which Simon says “booo”. Kara says Adam is a “strategist”, able to make performances “unbelievable”, doing his “own version” of the song. Paula jokes about sitting next to Simon “gloating over Adam’s performance”. Next up is Danny Gokey singing his Personal Choice song, “You Are So Beautiful” by Joe Cocker. I was very nervous Danny wouldn’t be able to pull off this song tonight, but Danny is sounding really good. Smooth, no screaming, great melody, very very good performance. Randy Jackson says “amazing song”, “you showed dude that you can really, really, really sing dawg”. Kara calls it a “stunning” performance. Paula says Danny’s changing up the “structure” of the song arrangement made for a “beautiful performance”. Simon calls it a “vocal masterclass”. Good job Danny! Kris Allen is up next with his Personal Choice song, “Heartless” by Kanye West. Kris is playing the guitar with this performance. Randy Jackson says “this is gonna be one of the toughest voting” this season, “better than the original”, “I loved it, I loved it”. Kara says it “was bold, brave and fearless”. Paula says “bravo”, “I commend you”. Simon thought it “was a lame song choice” and had “literally written you out of this competition, but that’s all changed after that performance”. Good job Kris! Kara wonders “Who hits those notes? Adam Lambert”. Paula says “We’ll see you in the finals”. Simon Cowell says he’s “not going to suck up”, but tells Adam that Adam fans need to vote for Adam because he deserves to be in the finals based on talent.
