Sad news to report today. American Idol winner David Cook’s brother, Adam Cook, died at 1 a.m. this morning after battling brain cancer.
David Cook made the announcement of Adam Cook’s death at this morning’s Race For Hope 5K in Washington DC.
Adam Cook died early this morning at a hospice in Terre Haute, Indiana, where “he was surrounded by his family, including his wife Kendra, his children, his father and his step-mom, among others.”
Unfortunately, David couldn’t get there in time before Adam died, but David was able to honor his brother’s death by running the 5K today.
RadarOnline is reporting that a family friend commented that “Adam passed away peacefully.”
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Adam, David Cook’s family and friends.

David is such a trooper for showing up to the charity walk only 1 day after his brother passed away. That took such inner strength on his part. He’s an incredible person.
