“The acoustic rocker vs the glam rocker, Conway vs California, The guy next door vs the guy liner… It comes down to Kris and Adam”, says Ryan Seacrest. Introduction of the American Idol Judges. “Get on your feet for Kris Allen and Adam Lambert”, as the Top 2 Idol finalists take the stage. Kris Allen won the coin toss and chose Adam Lambert to sing first. Three songs will be performed tonight. Kris Allen is singing “Ain’t No Sunshine” on the piano. Also very smooth. Randy Jackson says “I think me personally.., that was one of your best performances on the stage, yes, yes, yes, yes”. Kara says “you have a way of creating an intimate bond with your audience, where everyone feels like you’re singing to us”. Paula says Kris “Allenizes” his performances. Umm, ok? Simon Cowell says he takes back what he’s said about Kris Allen in the past, and loved the performance “I wasn’t sure if a had made the right choice last week, I absolutely take that all back after that performance”. Round 2:
Adam Lambert is singing A Change Is Gonna Come. Adam did a quick change and is wearing a light grey suit and looking good. The song performance was spectacular! Randy Jackson says “What you did right there, you can sing your face off and that was unbelievable”. Kara says the it was the best performance Adam has done, “combination of the high notes and low notes, using both sides of yourself”. Paula says Adam will be “iconic” and stands up to say “the best, the best, the best performance”. Simon Cowell says Adam Lambert is “100% back in the game…congratulations”. Great job Adam!
Kris Allen is up with “What’s Goin On” by Marvin Gaye, sitting on a stool playing guitar. Randy Jackson says “we’ve got ourselves a real live duel going on…just a little light for me man, ya know?” Kara says she’s glad Simon picked a “social conscience song, make them feel and make them change”. Paula says Kris “tore that song up and made Marvin Gaye proud”. Simon says Kris’ performance was like “three friends in their bedroom singing”.., adding Kris did not “grab hold of the song and too laid back for a night like this”. Uh Oh Kris! Simon Cowell says Adam Lambert won Round 2 “1 million percent for Adam”.
Round 3:
Adam Lambert is singing the Winner’s Coronation Song “No Boundaries“. WOW, WOW!!! Randy Jackson says “I’ve said it before I’ll say it again, you can sing anything.., you can sing the phone book, but not one of my performances, a bit pitchy for me in some spots”. Kara says she’s proud of Adam’s performance of the song she co-wrote. Paula says she’ll “be a fan forever, front line”. Simon Cowell says “you have been one of the best, original contestants on the show..I genuinely believe we have found a worldwide star in you”. Fabulous, spectacular performance by Adam Lambert tonight! (Problem is, Kara DioGuardi’s “No Boundaries” Lyrics SUCK! Very Kindergarten! Neither Adam nor Kris Allen should have to get stuck with this pathetic attempt of a song. Ick.)
Kris Allen is now singing the Winner’s Coronation Song “No Boundaries“. Kris is doing a great job, although sometimes appearing to strain to hit the higher notes. Randy Jackson says the song was a little too high for Kris. Kara DioGuardi says “I don’t want you to be judged on that song…you’ve been incredible to watch week after week…I hope people vote on the season”. Paula says “You should take it in…amazing job…I wish you the best of luck”. Simon Cowell says “I think the first song was your highlight…watching you tonight has been incredible…you have thoroughly deserved to be standing on this stage tonight, congratulations.”
Carrie Underwood closes the show with “Home Sweet Home” AKA “the boot song”.

My prediction …
Adam will win American Idol tomorrow night; but over the long haul, Kris is likely to have have a more successful career.
Adam is dynamite, look out Guns and Rose, Aerosmith…there’s a new king in town!
Terrific finale, except for the coronation song, was not a great song for either Kris nor Adam. Kris has my vote.

Kris did a very nice job, but i still think he doesn’t have that x-factor to be a winner.
It should be Adam! Otherwise, it would appear as a mock talent competition…
couple of suggestions: i know that the final song is a good way to see how the two finalists measure up exactly, finally doing the exact same song. but for goodness sake, the song is always terrible. kara was gushing about having her song on tv. as far as accomplishments go, that’s great for her. but was it the place to talk about that instead of the performances? absolutley not! and the song itself was horrid. please, if they insist on keeping that practice, bring in a professional to put together a worthy piece. and, second, now that’s it’s over, for the love of all that is decent, please let paula go into the good night. after years of train wreck t.v. let the woman retain her last shred of dignity and be “encouraged” out the door. the jury’s still still out on kara – i’m not saying she’s the answer, but for now, they’ve made a good choice bringing her in as paula’s replacement. Paula brings nothing to the table and only brings down the show’s credibility and viewership. take advantage of her contract expiring. don’t miss this op. people have been saying it for years – let her move on. she needs to piece her life and career(if not too late for both) back together, and is only hurting you and herself in the meantime. otherwise, looking forward to another year, hopefully with some positive changes!
adam is the best by far.. hope the public has voted for extraordinary talent rather than same old style as we already have. kris will do great as the runner-up, recording his individual cds and writing songs but adam will tell stories and be heart throbbers, soul searchers, untouchables like never before that will go down in history.
i don’t think that no boundaries song is a bad song…. but it definitely didn’t fit either adam OR kris.. i can totally imagine someone like kelly clarkson singing that song and owning it…

Adam is like no other!! His voice is amazingly incredible. Kris is pleasant to listen to but Adam’s singing gives me chills, brings tears to my eyes, and a smile to my face… What a range of emotions, what a range of vocal talent!!
