American Idol 4/21/09 is here finally! The American Idol Top 7 sing DISCO tonight, and we’re here LIVE to watch the Idol performances and bring you the judges comments and VIDEO of the performances. There have been various “American Idol Spoilers” circulating the net about what songs each of the Top 7 will sing tonight, but there are also many trustworthy people saying the “spoilers” are fakes, and that’s why we’re not posting any spoilers unless we have every reason to believe they’re real.
***Keep watching this space for edited updates with VIDEO links of the American Idol Top 7 singing DISCO!***
It’s DISCO night on American Idol! “This is American Idol!” Ryan Seacrest reminds us that on tomorrow night’s Results show, TWO of the Idol TOP 7 will be voted off American Idol, so remember to VOTE!
Lil Rounds is first up singing “I’m Every Woman” by Chaka Khan. Lil Rounds is doing a pretty good job with her performance tonight, but let’s see what the judges have to say. Randy Jackson says “it sounded so wild” and “didn’t really show us what kind of vocal control you can have”. Kara DioGuardi said “I’m not sure it was worth the wait” and Lil “still didn’t tell me who you are as an artist”. Paula Abdul says Lil was “hot tonight” but “didn’t make the boiling point”. Simon Cowell says he’s glad Lil had fun but thinks this week is Lil’s “final shot”. Wow, all four Idol judges weren’t at all pleased with Lil Rounds performance. I didn’t think it was THAT bad! To VOTE for Lil Rounds, phone 1-866-IDOLS-01 or text “VOTE” to 5701.
Kris Allen is next to perform and he’s singing “She Works Hard For The Money” by Donna Summer. Kris is playing the guitar, and Kris’ performance is quite a bit slower and more mellow than the version Donna Summer did during the Disco days. Kris definitely changed things up and made the song his own, but I don’t know if I like this one personally, but that’s only because I love me some Donna Summer. Kara DioGuardi says Kris “took a big risk but it paid of big time”. Paula Abdul says the performance had a “classy” style to it, also commenting on Kris’ outfit. Simon Cowell said “that was not karaoke”, “was original and a fantastic performance”. Randy Jackson says Kris is “ready for the big time”. To VOTE for Kris Allen, phone 1-866-IDOLS-02 or text “VOTE” to 5702.
Danny Gokiey takes the Idol stage singing “September” by Earth, Wind and Fire. Paula Abdul is dancing at her seat, and I can see why.
Danny is sounding pretty darn good tonight! Overall, I liked Danny’s performance. Randy Jackson says he was a bit worried but that Danny “really turned this to work it out for you”. Kara DioGuardi says Danny is an “incredible vocalist” and his “pitch is always on”. Paula Abdul says Danny “has one of the sexiest voices” and women of all ages will love Danny Gokey. Simon Cowell says he “didn’t get any star power” and that the performance overall “was a bit awkward and clumsy”. To VOTE for Danny Gokey, phone 1-866-IDOLS-03 or text “VOTE” to 5703.
Allison Iraheta is singing “Hot Stuff” by Donna Summer. Allison is really rockin’ her performance tonight! Wow Allison! I am soooo going to download Allison’s performance!!! Randy Jackson says “it was a little over-indulgent” but that Allison is “one of the best singers” in the competition but didn’t really like the arrangement. Kara DioGuardi also didn’t like the arrangement, but agrees with Randy that her vocals were excellent. Paula Abdul says Allison “hit it out of the park” and Simon Cowell says it “was a brilliant performance”. The moment American Idol is over tonight, I’m downloading Hot Stuff immediately! That was Hot Stuff Allison! To VOTE for Allison Iraheta, phone 1-866-IDOLS-04 or text “VOTE” to 5704.
Adam Lambert is next up, singing “If I Can’t Have You” by the Bee Gees. Adam Lambert is simply spectacular tonight in my opinion, but the haters will say Adam was screaming and screeching. Whatever. Randy Jackson says “you are ready right now”, saying “he is a Hot One tonight America!” Kara DioGuardi says the way Adam connects with the audience is inspiring, and says the performance was spectacular. Paula Abdul appears choked up, with lips quivering and says “you will be in the finals”. Simon Cowell says “the vocals were immaculate”. Simon Cowell is clapping his hands for Adam’s performance! I am soooo downloading Adam’s performance tonight! That was HOT! To VOTE for Adam Lambert, phone 1-866-IDOLS-05 or text “VOTE” to 5705.
Next up is Matt Giraud singing “Staying Alive” by the Bee Gees. I really like Matt Giraud and I enjoy listening to Matt sing, but I don’t care much when he attempts to sing too high for his vocal range ability, as he does in this performance. Randy Jackson didn’t like the song choice, didn’t like the arrangement but says “you can really sing dude”. Kara says the “vocals were pretty good”, a good/solid performance. Paula Abdul says after tonight’s performance, Matt “is staying”. Simon Cowell says the performance came across as “desperate”, with no originality and “not a huge fan of that one”. Uh-Oh Matt?! To VOTE for Matt Giraud, phone 1-866-IDOLS-06 or text “VOTE” to 5706.
Last to sing tonight is Anoop Desai singing “Dim All The Lights” by Donna Summer. Randy Jackson says that Anoop can sing too “nice, baby nice”. Kara DioGuardi says the song sounded like it could have been played on the radio. Paula says Anoop needs to smile more and enjoyed the uptempo part. Simon Cowell says “it was mediocre at best”, a “horrible version of that song”, “genuinely your worst performance”. Uh Oh Anoop! I didn’t like that one at all! To VOTE for Anoop Desai, phone 1-866-IDOLS-07 or text “VOTE” to 5707.
Bottom 3 Predictions:
- Lil Rounds
- Matt Giraud
- Anoop Desai
What TWO will be voted off tomorrow night? My prediction of who will be voted off American Idol on the results show tomorrow night are Anoop and Lil. What do you think?

I think it’ll be anoop and lil’ too.. Give Matt one last chance to prove himself..
Watched everyone again and really thought Matt definitely worked it out. Everyone liked it except Simon (go figure) I think Simon’s a little jealous cause maybe he’s thinking Paula likes Matt more then HIM??? haha
Way to go Matt G!!!
When will Lil stop talking back to the judges? Yes I’m a artist, no I’m not, yes I am, no wait did I just say? Sorry girl, I really hope it’s you tonight and Anoop or Danny cause they were just as BORING.
The truth is it is about what type of singer you like. For me I like Anoop and a few others. i would be happy if adam went home cause i do not need a performance, i want good sining. Yes i said it. I just do not care for his style, but the majority of the people watching doan they all must have something in common to like him. One question when you buy his CD and hear all the screaming he likes to do (cause non of hit is on key cause you do not c=scream on key) will your ears be able to listen to it day after day.
I agree with Jonathon re whom you like reflects who you are.
That is why i don’t like mediocres like Anoop and the rest. Oh well, they can sing dogg, but the couch is getting narrower for them. Good thing he and talk back Lil already went home.
Do you really think producers will allow adam to make an all-screeching album? Ha, it just proves you havent heard the studio version of his songs. There is a great diff between his live and studio perf, but nonetheless both great.
Maybe it’s really better if adam would already go home so that the fans will get more of him (and stop watching those time consuming videos).
Its so unfortunate that some people hate adam just because hes so good no one can afford to sing along with him, and his great vocals are referred to as screeching sound just because he has a wide range that smug Danny Pop Gokey hasnt. Its unfortunate that hes all been hyped, so haters get tired of him. Anyhoo, American Idol is all about hype, aight. So there.
Humble yet secure. Talented. Performer. SINGER. ADAM.
