American Idol 4/14/09 Top 7 Idols At The Movies Theme Next Week on American Idol
Next week’s theme on American Idol (April 14, 2009) will be “Songs From The Movies“. The Top 7 American Idol finalists (Kris Allen, Anoop Desai, Matt Giraud, Danny Gokey, Allison Iraheta, Adam Lambert and Lil Rounds) will perform songs of the cinema under the guidance of director Quentin Tarantino in an “Idols at the Movies” (8:00-9:01 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) theme next week.
Tune in on Wednesday, April 15 (9:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) to find out if the judges use their save or if America sends another finalist home. Also, Season Three finalist Jennifer Hudson returns to the IDOL stage to perform her new single, “If This Isn’t Love,” and Miley Cyrus will sing “The Climb” from “Hannah Montana: The Movie.”
You may recall that Quentin Tarantino was a guest judge for Season 3’s Top 8 movie theme, so this should be a lot of fun.
Jillian Reynolds from American Idol Extra announced that next week’s theme will be Songs from the Movies.

I think Lil should do ‘Don’t Let Go’ (En Vogue). She’d be able to showcase her swagger and voice with that!
Nice assignment you got there, Sasha. Danny can definitely deliver a Bryan Adams song as they sort of have the same raspiness in their voice. Idk about Matt, Kris, Allisson and Anoop (actually, idc). As per Lil, im thinking whether the judges will appove of her this time when she does a Mary J Blige. And for Adam, i really dont want to guess or suggest anything b/c i enjoy the element of surprise he brings with him. But i do hope he would do another tamed and manly (not too many falsetto) song. And i hope he wont get cut off again!

Just about anything from “Twilight” for Adam would be just perfect! He has been compared to the male lead, Edward. The music is awesome and just right for Adam!
Faith Hill’s “There You’ll Be” is a song Lil should be singing. The ‘Mahogany’ song is a good suggestion, but I’m afraid the judges will call it boring, no matter what she tries to do with it. Anything from ‘Dreamgirls’, ‘Waiting to Exhale’ or ‘The Bodyguard’, and anything from Whitney, Celine, Mariah or Beyonce is cyanide for Lil, because everybody sees it coming. She has to try something NO ONE expects, and that Faith Hill song is the ticket.
Whoever suggested Adam do “Cry Little Sister” from The Lost Boys is genius! That would be killer.
